Official UK Launch Event

The official UK launch of Airium Roadfill and Airium Voidfill took place in July at the London Concrete plant where industry professionals gathered to witness these groundbreaking products firsthand. The event featured hands-on demonstrations at London concrete neighbouring plant that showcased the unique capabilities of Airium, giving customers a chance to see how the products perform in real-world scenarios. Attendees also received a detailed technical overview, highlighting the versatility and sustainability of the Airium range.

Airium Roadfill: Revolutionising Road Backfilling

Airium Roadfill is designed to streamline road construction and maintenance, providing a solution that minimises disruptions and maximises productivity. This innovative foam concrete requires no specialised equipment, such as compactors or vibrators, making the application process simpler and more cost-effective. By eliminating the need for stockpiling granular-fill materials and reducing long-term settlement issues, Airium Roadfill enables customers to complete projects faster, with fewer resources, and greater reliability.

Ideal for applications ranging from highway reinstatements to utility repairs, Airium Roadfill excels in scenarios where traditional compaction methods are difficult or impractical. It fills narrow trenches and undercut pockets with precision, providing comprehensive protection for pipelines and other infrastructure. Customers can choose between Airium Roadfill, which reaches 4 MPa strength in seven days, or Airium Roadfill Ultra, which achieves the same strength in just one to two days, making it perfect for time-sensitive projects like emergency road repairs.

Airium Voidfill: Filling Voids with Precision and Durability

Airium Voidfill addresses a critical need in the construction industry for reliable, efficient, and environmentally friendly void-filling solutions. Whether dealing with voids beneath building foundations, around pipelines, or within complex underground structures, Airium Voidfill offers a lightweight yet durable option that adapts to a variety of environments.

The product is designed to be easy to apply while providing the necessary strength without adding undue load to surrounding structures. It reduces labour costs by simplifying the preparation and application process, offering significant savings without compromising on quality or performance. Moreover, Airium Voidfill is environmentally conscious, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable construction materials by reducing material waste and minimising the carbon footprint of projects.

Setting a New Standard in Construction Materials

Both Airium Roadfill and Airium Voidfill comply with industry standards, ensuring reliable performance across various applications. These products not only meet the immediate needs of contractors and construction teams but also contribute to long-term infrastructure stability and environmental sustainability.

Jon Collyer, Managing Director of London Concrete, expressed his enthusiasm for the UK launch: "We are thrilled to introduce Airium to the UK market, offering truly innovative solutions that align with the UK construction industry's growing demand for sustainable, high-performance materials. Airium enables our customers to build more with less, providing a lightweight, cost-effective material that not only reduces the overall carbon footprint but also enhances the efficiency and durability of construction projects."

As part of the pre-launch activities, the technical concrete specialists at London Concrete collaborated with Laing O’Rourke on a live project, demonstrating Airium Voidfill's exceptional suitability for real-world applications.

Martin Osbourne from Laing O’Rourke shared his positive experience: "We worked closely with the London Concrete team to tailor Airium Voidfill to meet our precise requirements, particularly in achieving the desired density. After integrating the product into our project, we are pleased with the results. Airium Voidfill has proven to be an excellent alternative to traditional concrete for applications requiring reduced weight."
